With over two centuries of evolution under consistent ownership, the firm is known for continuity and patience, principles that shape how they invest, how they develop client partnerships, and how they drive forward investment solutions.

Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced Active ETF Sales Director to lead distribution efforts across Germany and Austria. The successful candidate will leverage a deep understanding of ETF products and relationships across key client channels to expand the firms footprint within the region. This role requires a proactive, strategic professional, based in Germany, with a proven track record in ETF distribution and strong language capabilities in both German and English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the go-to ETF specialist across the region, bringing deep expertise in ETF strategies, product positioning, performance analytics, and the evolving market landscape.
  • Build, cultivate, and expand relationships with a broad range of clients including institutions, intermediaries, wealth managers, digital platforms, and private banks throughout the DACH markets.
  • Uncover new business opportunities and drive targeted sales initiatives to grow their ETF footprint in the region, with clear emphasis on asset accumulation and revenue expansion.
  • Draw on an established network to introduce their ETF capabilities to prospective clients, while continuing to deepen engagement with existing ones.
  • Work in close partnership with the broader Client Group and internal teams to sharpen coverage, elevate client service quality, and channel product feedback where it matters most.
  • Track and interpret regional market dynamics, client requirements, competitor developments, and shifts in the regulatory environment to sharpen and inform business development efforts.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings, industry conferences, seminars, and sector events to reinforce the firm's brand, credibility, and thought leadership within the ETF space.
  • Deliver compelling, high-calibre product training sessions and presentations tailored to both internal teams and external audiences.
  • Partner closely with compliance and risk functions to ensure all business activities remain fully aligned with applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in the distribution or sales of ETF products across the DACH region.
  • Full professional fluency in both German and English, spoken and written, is a prerequisite.
  • A proven and demonstrable record of driving ETF asset growth and building lasting relationships across wholesale, institutional, and intermediary channels, ideally within the DACH markets.
  • A well-established network of key decision-makers and influencers within the DACH ETF landscape, spanning private banks, institutions, asset managers, wealth managers, and digital platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ETF investment strategies, portfolio construction principles, active and passive product structures, derivatives and structured instruments, quantitative methodologies, product positioning, and the relevant regulatory framework.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation abilities, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
  • A clearly demonstrated strategic, consultative, and client-first approach to business development.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to draw meaningful insights from market data, intelligence, and research to identify and act on commercial opportunities.
  • A results-oriented, entrepreneurial outlook, characterised by initiative and a proactive approach to identifying and converting new business prospects.
  • A high level of professionalism and personal integrity, with the ability to work autonomously in a demanding and fast-moving environment.
  • Solid organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Prior experience within a global or matrix-structured organisation would be considered an advantage.
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline;
