Job summary

congatec GmbH in Germany is seeking an experienced accounts payable specialist to join our finance team in Deggendorf. You will process invoices, manage payments, and support month-end close.

The role requires SAP FI, ideally SAP S/4HANA, IFRS and HGB knowledge, and strong Excel skills. Fluent German and good English are expected.

You will supervise trainees and contribute to process improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial training with additional qualification as a certified accountant (IHK) or a degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
• Several years of professional experience in accounts payable accounting or a relevant AP environment.
• Good knowledge of SAP FI; ideally experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Knowledge of IFRS and HGB accounting standards.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Structured, independent, and meticulous way of working.

Responsibilities

• Process and post incoming invoices and bank transactions.
• Clarify and process open items and perform dunning activities.
• Reconcile and maintain vendor accounts.
• Conduct month-end closing in accounts payable and general ledger.
• Support the annual financial statement audit under IFRS and HGB.

In this position, you will take responsibility for our accounts payable function and actively contribute to the day-to-day operations of accounting. Your responsibilities will include, in particular:

• Processing and posting incoming invoices as well as bank transactions
• Clarifying and processing open items and carrying out dunning activities
• Reconciling and maintaining vendor accounts
• Performing month-end closing activities in accounts payable as well as in the general ledger
• Supporting the annual financial statement audit in accordance with IFRS and HGB
• Acting as a point of contact for internal departments and suppliers
• Supervising and supporting apprentices and students within the Finance department
• Contributing to projects aimed at optimizing and further developing processes

Your Profile:

• Completed commercial training with further qualification as a certified accountant (IHK), or a completed degree, e.g. in business administration, accounting, finance, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in accounts payable accounting or in an operational accounts payable environment are desirable
• Good knowledge of SAP FI; ideally, experience with SAP S/4HANA
• Good knowledge of accounting standards under IFRS and HGB
• Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel
• Structured, independent, and meticulous way of working
• Strong numerical understanding and a high degree of responsibility
• Very good German language skills as well as good English language skills
