ScotiaTech in Bogota, Colombia, is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Client Analytics technology team and help modernize our analytic platform. You will work with big data, Python, cloud services, and microservices to deliver high-quality solutions that improve client profitability insights.

You will collaborate with risk management, financial engineering, business analysts, and architecture teams to design robust solutions, applying DevOps practices in a fast-evolving

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of RDBMS experience with Oracle, Postgres, SQL server.
• 3-5 years of Linux environment experience with command line and shell.
• 3+ Python experience with application development.
• Cloud-based applications and containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher.
• DevOps and CI/CD using Bitbucket, Jenkins.
• Exposure to Apache Airflow.
• Knowledge of Tableau and PowerBI is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Object-oriented design, Microservices architecture, high performance, multi-threading.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in design, development and implementation of quality solutions for complex problems.
• Implement ETL processes and ensure integration across end-to-end architecture.
• Ensure delivery meets integrity, quality, performance and reliability requirements; build automated tests and regression suites.
• Support existing applications and resolve business/technical issues.
• Code review of peers and oversee their work.
• Coordinate infrastructure needs across Unix/Windows servers, cloud-based infra, databases, and documentation.

The Team

The Client Analytics technology teamis a crucial part of the Client & data management group under Global Banking & Markets Technology, IT&S. We are working on numerous projects to modernization our analytic platform, enabling our capability and improving our data quality and availability to better manage our client relationships and improve insights into client profitability. This is an opportunity to work with big data and analytics, gaining exposure to various systems and business areas of the Bank.

The role:

We are looking for a results-oriented, creative and highly motivated Sr Software Engineer to join our team to take on this challenging and exiting role for our analytic platform modernization project. The successful candidate should have a curious mindset, strong technical and data engineering skills, passionate for challenges and want to contribute to the success of the Bank, camaraderie is as essential as technical expertise. He/She will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders (senior level, and subject matter experts) stakeholders including business partners in risk management & financial engineering, business analyst, architecture, and infrastructure and support to understand business requirements and drive the design of quality technical solutions that best support the business need utilizing latest technology.

Accountabilities

Ideal candidate would be required to

• Provide technical expertise in the design, development and implementation of effective and quality solutions that resolve highly complex business problems and support business needs.
• Utilize diverse set of technologies to implement new functionalities & ETL processes or enhancements of existing implementations and ensure sound integration with surrounding components from end to end operational perspective. This could include overhauling our analytic platform.
• Ensure that delivery meets the integrity, quality, performance and reliability requirements, and building automated testing and regression suites use of DevOps principles.
• Provide support for existing applications and resolve business and technical issues.
• Perform code review of code developed by technical consultants and oversee their work.
• To coordinate infrastructure needs for requisitioning Unix and Windows Servers, Cloud based infrastructure, databases and assist actively with documentational requirements covering architecture, security and operational readiness.
• Highlight technical issues and challenges and propose creative solutions to resolve issues.
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

• 3-5 years of RDBMS experience with Oracle, Postgres, SQL server
• 3-5 years of experience working with fluency on Linux environment with Linux command line, and shell script
• 3+ Python experience with application development
• Experience with Cloud base applications, containerization technology: Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher
• Experience with DevOps and continuous delivery and deployment methodologies based off bitbucket, Jenkins
• Exposure to Apache Airflow
• Knowledge of Tableau and PowerBI implementation will be an asset
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of object oriented design and design patterns, micro services architecture and high performance, and multi-threading techniques
• Experience with SAS or Talend applications, Spark
