Amadeus IT Group is seeking a Service Reliability Engineer in Bogota to maintain cloud-based distribution services, monitoring system health, and coordinating incidents across global and local teams. • Experience in designing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

• Systematic problem‑solving approach; strong communication.
• Experience with Java, Groovy, Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Amadeus distribution services on the cloud; monitor health, availability, latency, and operability.
• Coordinate projects and/or team members locally in Bogota.
• Coordinate incident response and post-incident investigations and follow‑ups.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting; meet SLAs/OLAs.
• Coordinate major releases with owners and middleware teams.
• Support production and customer-facing test environments of the distribution portfolio.
• Troubleshoot in OpenShift/Kubernetes cloud environments.
• Document production architecture and operating guidelines.
• Manage environment configurations and change requests.

Service Reliability Engineer

About The Business Area/Department:

The Front Office Reservation (FOR) group oversees the front office applications used by Travel Agents and Travel Management Companies across the world, with the flag-ship application being Selling Platform Connect. The products are enterprise-class, hosted in public clouds, and built primarily using standard open software on a Java platform.

Summary of the role:

Within the Front Office group, you will be part of the FOROPS team. A team in charge of security, implementations, and support of the infrastructure hosting applications.

In this role you’ll:

• Maintain Amadeus distribution services on the cloud by measuring and monitoring system health, availability, latency, and all operability criteria.
• Coordinate and manage projects and/or team members locally in Bogota
• Coordinate incident response, post-incident investigation, and practice follow-up/post-mortem reports.
• Engage in continuous improvement of the whole product and platform lifecycle through development design, deployment, operations, and refinement.
• Adapt and improve the monitoring, alerting, log management, and auto-recovery (Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, etc.) to meet our SLAs/OLAs.
• Coordinate, review, and support major releases/technical changes with application owners and middleware organizations.
• Support the production and customer-facing test environments for the Amadeus distri-bution portfolio.
• Coordinate incident recoveries and follow-up actions, acting as a liaison between Op-erations and Development teams.
• Perform strong and deep troubleshooting in a cloud (OpenShift/Kubernetes) environ-ment.
• Review and support server-side infrastructure changes.
• Provide and update documentation of production architecture and operational guide-lines.
• Review application functional change requests and environment configuration man-agement.
• Ensure the availability and stability of production environments, respecting SLAs
• Automate manual tasks and improve tooling, monitoring, and alerting.

About the ideal candidate:

• Fluent in English
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and cloud systems.
• Experience in designing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Ability to debug, optimize, and automate routine tasks.
• Systematic problem-solving approach.
• Experience in programming in Java, Groovy, Python, and building tools is a plus.
