Discover the Position

We are seeking a Database to join our Global Database Services team. In this role, you will act as the final escalation point for complex incidents and lead initiatives in architecture, automation, and optimization across critical Microsoft SQL Server environments and related technologies.

You will serve as a technical reference for the team, mentor L2 engineers, define standards, and drive critical changes and upgrades on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of complex incidents, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Management in SQL Server environments.
• Design and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and performance tuning strategies.
• Define standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering teams.
• Automate tasks and operational workflows using PowerShell, T-SQL, and related tools.
• Mentor and support engineers, promoting operational excellence.
• Conduct capacity planning, audits, and compliance activities.
• Plan, approve, and execute changes and upgrades across global SQL Server environments.
• Lead proactive monitoring, alerting, health checks, and continuous improvement through trend analysis and baselining.
• Manage backup and restore strategies, security models, and patching processes.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a DBA with SQL Server, including performance tuning and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows Server, PowerShell, T-SQL, and SSRS/SSIS.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra).
• Fluent in English (C1), both written and spoken.
• Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.
