Nubank in Colombia seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems. You will shape technical direction, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers, while embracing a culture of learning and autonomy.

The role emphasizes backend focus with opportunities to contribute to mobile and frontend as needed. We use Clojure for backend development, harness Finagle, Kafka, AWS, Datomic, DynamoDB, Prometheus, and Kubernetes to build

Formación

• At least 6 years of experience delivering digital products in complex environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale systems for thousands or millions of users.
• Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming languages; multi-language capability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end within a team and with partner teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.
• Practical knowledge of agile software development and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication to articulate risks and trade-offs to varied stakeholders.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Work with large-scale distributed systems and understand their architecture and trade-offs.
• Lead technical direction for your team and align solutions with architecture and business strategy.
• Drive pragmatic innovation while ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
• Mentor engineers and uphold a high technical standard in the team.
• Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain high-quality code.
• Participate in code reviews to support team growth.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership on end-to-end experiences.
• Ensure observability and performance monitoring across services.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and incident response.
• Focus on backend while contributing to mobile/ frontend as needed.
