Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an SMT Pick-and-Place Programmer III to program, set up, optimize, and continuously improve SMT equipment for PCB assembly. You will develop machine programs, libraries, feeders, and production setup data to ensure accurate, efficient builds.

Collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Materials is essential. The role is onsite at Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, with no relocation offered; residency in Puerto Rico at start is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS with at least 4 years of SMT programming or related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• U.S. citizenship is required to access program/contract information.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, verify, and optimize SMT pick-and-place programs using CAD data and Gerber files.
• Develop and maintain component libraries with part numbers and BOM
• Verify placement coordinates, orientation, and package information
• Set up feeder assignments and machine recipes
• Review BOMs and drawings to resolve discrepancies before production
• Perform program verification and machine setup for accurate builds
• Optimize sequences to improve throughput
• Troubleshoot placement errors with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Materials
• Support FAI, NPI, and production transfers with documentation
• Maintain revision control and reduce waste and downtime
