Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind an event-driven integration platform.

You will design topic and partition schemes, manage retention, replication, and upgrades, and ensure the platform remains auditable and resilient. You will implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics, build streaming observability, and plan capacity for a durable log with regulatory audit needs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production Kafka experience (min 4 years).
• Strong Linux engineering and automation skills.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and release management.
• Expertise with containers and orchestration (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with IaC and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: design, partitioning, replication, retention, and upgrades.
• Keep the integration platform resilient and auditable during upstream outages.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once delivery semantics with idempotent producers.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, dashboards, alerts, and SLOs.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audit needs.
• Develop and evolve the build/release pipelines (Jenkins) and container images.
