Job summary

AgileEngine in Colombia is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own the Kafka estate behind an event-driven platform. You will design topic schemas, manage replication and retention, and ensure reliability across the integration stack.

The role requires hands-on Linux engineering, Python scripting, and strong CI/CD ownership. You will work with containers, OCI images, and modern IaC practices to support enterprise-scale SaaS deployments.

Qualifications

• Deep production Kafka experience is required (4+ years).
• Strong Linux engineering and automation skills.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and artifact management.
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools.
• Ability to design scalable, auditable streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate design, replication, and retention policies.
• Ensure platform resilience during vendor SaaS outages.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics where needed.
• Develop streaming observability dashboards and SLIs/alerts.
• Plan capacity, cost and retention for durable logs with audits.
• Maintain build/release pipelines and container images.
• Automate provisioning and asset inventory as a single source of truth.
• Collaborate with Python developers on performance and cost.
