AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind a large event-driven integration platform. You will design topics, manage partitions, ensure durability, and implement reliable delivery semantics across a global team.

The role requires hands-on Kafka expertise, Linux automation with Python, and strong CI/CD ownership. You will work with containers (Docker/Podman) and OCI images, and will contribute to observability and cost planning

Qualifications

• 4+ years Kafka production experience required.
• Experience with event-driven delivery semantics and exactly-once semantics is essential.
• Strong Linux engineering and automation skills, Python scripting.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and release management.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: topic design, partitioning, replication and retention policies.
• Ensure platform resilience during upstream service degradation.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once delivery guarantees.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, dashboards and SLOs.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audit requirements.
• Operate runtime estate: containerized deployments and OS modernization.
