Job summary

AgileEngine seeks an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind an event-driven integration platform, including build, deployment and monitoring infrastructure.

You will manage topic design, replication, and consumer group strategy, implement reliable at-least-once semantics, build streaming observability, and collaborate with a global team using Linux, Python scripting, and Jenkins pipelines.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on Kafka experience of 4+ years.
• Strong Linux engineering and automation skills (Python).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes).
• Observability tooling, dashboards and SLOs.
• Familiarity with TLS, secrets, OAuth2 and security basics.
• Ability to work with a global team and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: topic design, partitioning, replication, and offsets.
• Maintain platform resilience and handle load with reliable streaming guarantees.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics and dead-letter handling.
• Build streaming observability: dashboards, tracing, and alerting.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audits.
• Collaborate with Python developers on deployment and performance.
• Operate the runtime estate: containerized deployments and OS modernization.
