Job summary

AECOM is seeking a hands-on CFD Engineer to join its Data Center team in Medellín. You will own the CFD study lifecycle and translate complex simulation results into actionable design steps for data center cooling and containment.

You will work with project teams to verify assumptions, document limitations, and deliver high-quality reports. The role requires deep CFD expertise, experience with data-center environments, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

Hands-on CFD experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
Ability to build geometry, mesh, set boundary conditions, and post-process results.
Strong writing and presentation skills for reports and client deliverables.
Advanced English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Own the full CFD study lifecycle from scoping to final report.
Perform data hall studies: rack inlet temps, containment, airflow distribution.
Conduct external studies for cooling towers, chillers, exhausts, heat rejection.
Run steady-state and transient analyses for outages and load changes.
Develop defensible modeling assumptions using project documents and data.
Prepare client-ready reports and visualizations communicating methodology and results.
