Job summary

Roca Alliances in Medellín is hiring Backend Engineers to join a new engineering team for a global email and collaboration security company. You will own the MSP partner portal’s backend, working with colleagues in the United States and Europe, and supporting production in a modern AWS EKS environment with Keycloak and integrated billing services.

The role covers Senior (5+ years) leadership in service design and on-call ownership as well as Mid (2–5 years) feature delivery with guidance.

Qualifications

• Backend experience building services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong REST API design and documentation using OpenAPI.
• Experience with JWT-based authentication and OAuth2/OIDC concepts.
• Knowledge of Redis (sessions or caching) and microservice patterns.
• Good testing habits and experience with CI pipelines and containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Professional English for daily work with US/European colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Build the TypeScript/Node BFF layer and the microservices behind the MSP partner portal.
• Design and implement REST APIs with OpenAPI specifications, including partner APIs and MSP billing APIs.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization: JWT validation, Keycloak OIDC tokens and Redis-backed sessions.
• Collaborate with Integration Engineers on data flows for quoting, contracts, billing and provisioning.
• Write well-tested, observable code and participate in code reviews.
• Share production support and on-call for backend services after handover.
