Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist - Export in Bogotá to coordinate international sea freight operations, ensure accurate documentation, and follow up on shipments. You will collaborate with customers, shipping lines, and partners to maintain smooth export processes, with a focus on exports to the United States.

You will manage bookings, document validation, and shipment milestones while applying Incoterms and maintaining proactive communication to meet service

Qualifications

• Degree or technical qualification in International Business, Foreign Trade, Logistics or related field.
• 2–3 years of sea freight export operations or freight forwarding experience.
• English proficiency at B2–C1 for international communication.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and practical application in international trade.
• Experience coordinating sea freight shipments, bookings and export docs.
• Familiarity with transport documents, shipment tracking and export closure.
• Strong organizational and proactive follow-up skills.
• Customer-focused with ability to coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with international teams and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

As a Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist - Export, you will play a key role in coordinating international sea freight operations, ensuring accurate documentation, timely shipment follow-up, and efficient export processes. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, shipping lines, and logistics partners to ensure shipments move smoothly across the supply chain, with a particular focus on export operations involving the United States.

• Follow up on bookings, container availability, shipment milestones, and operational updates to maintain visibility throughout the export process.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, shipping lines, and logistics partners to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Apply Incoterms correctly to clarify responsibilities and support the effective coordination of international shipments.
• Monitor shipment progress, identify potential delays or discrepancies, and coordinate timely solutions with the relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure proper operational closure of export shipments, maintaining accurate records and following established procedures.
• Provide customer-oriented support through proactive communication, timely updates, and consistent follow-up to meet agreed service levels.

What we would like you to bring

• A degree or technical qualification in International Business, Foreign Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
• Two to three years of experience in sea freight export operations or freight forwarding, preferably handling shipments involving the United States.
• B2-C1 English proficiency, with the ability to communicate confidently in an international business environment.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and their practical application in international trade.
• Experience coordinating sea freight shipments, container operations, shipping bookings, and export documentation.
• Familiarity with transport documents, shipment tracking, and operational export closure.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to follow-up.
