Job summary

Fidelity Partners seeks a Remote Surgery Coding Auditor to independently review surgical and procedural coding for VISN 7 in a fully remote capacity within the United States. Candidates must hold an AHIMA/AAPC credential and have several years of coding and audit experience, with strict accuracy and security requirements.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, English proficiency, and the ability to align with VA privacy, security, and training standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H).
• At least two years of coding experience in the applicable area.
• At least three years of consultant experience reviewing records in large tertiary-care hospitals and outpatient settings.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II, DRG, modifiers, bundling, and reimbursement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Audits surgical and procedural coding for accuracy and compliance.
• Evaluates coding assignments including ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II and bundling.
• Reviews diagnoses and procedures in EHRs using sampling requirements.
• Documents findings with supporting authority and actionable recommendations.
• Maintains audit accuracy at 95 percent and supports inter-reviewer calibration.
