Job summary

Cresta is hiring an HVAC Design Engineer / Mechanical Specialist for US projects. This fully remote role (LATAM) offers USD compensation and a NY schedule, with 16–20 PTO days annually. You will develop detailed HVAC shop drawings, perform system layouts, and coordinate mechanical designs for U.S. projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of HVAC design or MEP coordination, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and a solid grasp of ASHRAE standards. English proficiency (B2+ to C1) is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC design, mechanical engineering or MEP coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; strong Revit MEP experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of ASHRAE standards and US codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D HVAC models and construction-ready shop drawings using Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP.
• Design and coordinate HVAC systems, including duct sizing, equipment layouts, and piping distribution.
• Apply ASHRAE standards to deliver compliant designs and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Perform clash analysis and spatial coordination using Navisworks/Bluebeam.
• Maintain drawing revisions and quality control documentation.

We are hiring an HVAC Design Engineer / Mechanical Specialist to join the engineering team of one of our U.S.-based construction clients in New York.

In this role, you will work directly with the client’s team to develop detailed HVAC shop drawings, perform system layouts, and coordinate mechanical designs (ductwork, piping, load considerations) under ASHRAE & US Standards. This is an ideal position for Mechanical Engineers (Ingenieros Mecánicos) or HVAC Designers in Latin America with hands-on experience in HVAC system design, Revit MEP, and MEP coordination.

What You’ll Do

• Develop detailed 3D models and construction-ready HVAC shop drawings using Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP.
• Design and coordinate mechanical HVAC systems, including ductwork sizing, equipment layouts, and piping distribution for commercial and residential U.S. projects.
• Apply ASHRAE standards and applicable U.S. mechanical codes to deliver compliant, constructible designs.
• Perform clash resolution and spatial coordination with architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical disciplines using Navisworks / Bluebeam.
• Review mechanical plans and specifications to proactively identify constructability issues and propose practical design solutions.
• Maintain organized drawing revisions, technical documentation, and quality control reviews.

What You’ll Bring

• English Level: Advanced Technical & Conversational English (B2+ / C1).
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in HVAC design, mechanical engineering, or MEP coordination.
• Standards & Codes: Solid understanding of HVAC design principles and ASHRAE standards.
• Core Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD; strong experience with Revit MEP is highly preferred.
• Location: Must be residing and eligible to work remotely in Latin America.
