Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 4 years of experience in materials planning, supply planning, or buyer/planner roles within a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with Kinaxis (RapidResponse or Maestro)
- Working proficiency in Oracle EBS or SAP, including MRP, purchasing, and inventory management modules
- Strong knowledge of MRP logic, safety stock methodologies, and inventory health management, including coverage, aging, and excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret planning data
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive suppliers and cross-functional teams toward committed delivery dates
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in OTC pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other FDA-regulated (cGMP) manufacturing environments
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
- Proficiency in business intelligence or analytics tools, such as Apache Superset or Power BI, or experience using SQL
- Experience working within a Planning Center of Excellence (CoE) or a similarly governed planning environment
Responsibilities
MRP & Supply Execution
- Execute the weekly MRP cycle and convert planning signals into purchasing actions by placing, expediting, deferring, or canceling purchase orders in accordance with established policies
- Manage the complete purchase order lifecycle from placement through receipt
- Manage supplier communications and maintain accurate supplier schedules for assigned vendors
- Monitor supplier confirmations, on-time delivery performance, and recovery commitments to ensure delivery targets are met
Inventory Policy & Safety Stock
- Manage safety stock parameters within Center of Excellence (CoE) governance guidelines
- Monitor inventory coverage, health, and aging
- Lead monthly inventory policy reviews for the assigned portfolio
Excess & Obsolete (E&O) Inventory Management
- Prevent excess and obsolete inventory through proactive monitoring and early warning indicators
- Recommend monthly inventory disposition plans with quantified financial impacts
- Identify root causes and implement corrective portfolio and policy actions
Data Quality & Planning Parameters
- Maintain accurate planning master data, including lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), lot sizes, and safety stock levels
- Coordinate planning parameter audits and updates with the Master Data and Supply Planning teams
- Resolve material planning exceptions within established service level agreements
- Participate in weekly S&OE meetings to support material allocation, risk assessment, and recovery planning
- Coordinate material recovery timelines with Customer Service to minimize supply disruptions
Risk Management & Escalation
- Escalate supplier capacity, lead-time, or yield risks that exceed planning guidelines
- Recommend corrective actions to Supply Planning leadership and Sourcing to mitigate supply risks
Performance Measures
- Ensure on-time purchase order placement
- Minimize excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory trends and aging
- Optimize inventory turns and days of supply across product segments
- Maintain planning parameter compliance based on Center of Excellence (CoE) audit standards
Key Interfaces
- Collaborate daily with Supply Planning, Master Planning, Production Planning, Sourcing, External Operations, Quality, Master Data, and Customer Service teams
- Utilize Oracle EBS (ERP/MRP), Kinaxis, and safety stock analytics tools to support planning and inventory management activities
