Job summary

Lean Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Transportation Operations Team Lead to oversee domestic truckload operations and support drayage activities. You will guide a growing team, optimize workflows, and ensure service excellence for customer-facing shipments.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in transportation brokerage, shipment coordination, and customer service, with a proven ability to develop SOPs and scale processes as the team expands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, customer operations, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of transportation brokerage operations and domestic truckload processes.
• Experience with customer-facing transportation operations and shipment coordination.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and order management.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage operational priorities, resolve shipment issues, and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, improve processes, and contribute to the development of an operations team.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer-facing operations for domestic truckload shipments, ensuring consistent service and efficient execution.
• Create and manage orders manually in the Transportation Management System (TMS), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery scheduling and ensure all operational requirements are met.
• Oversee drayage operations, including terminal processes, containers, chassis, and related transportation requirements.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing timely updates and resolving operational issues.
• Monitor shipment activity, identify exceptions, and coordinate solutions with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Ensure load information, documentation, and shipment updates are accurate and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to team members.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflows, and team performance expectations.
• Help establish and scale operational processes as the team grows.
• Monitor team performance and identify opportunities to improve service quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
