Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Python Full Stack Engineer in Colombia to drive the design and delivery of scalable web applications. You will lead engineering teams, own architecture decisions, and ensure code quality across projects.

Responsibilities include designing full-stack solutions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product and QA teams to shape technical direction while delivering high-impact results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience.
• Proficiency with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Strong frontend skills with React or Angular.
• Deep knowledge of REST APIs and web app architecture.
• Experience designing and evolving complex systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• CI/CD and testing experience.
• Leadership/mentoring of engineers and driving initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• English proficiency at least B2.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of full-stack applications using Python and modern frontend frameworks.
• Architect backend services, APIs, and integrations with a focus on scalability and resilience.
• Define standards for responsive, maintainable frontend components and oversee their implementation.
• Own decisions around databases, cloud services, and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to shape technical direction.
• Drive technical design sessions, lead code reviews, and facilitate architecture discussions.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical growth and excellence.
• Ensure long-term code quality, performance, and maintainability across projects.
• Take ownership of delivery, identify risks early, and propose effective solutions.
