Job summary

FPT Latin America is seeking an Embedded Software Principal to lead architecture and development of autonomous mobile robotics platforms for demanding warehouse environments. You will define embedded software standards, drive real-time control, sensor integration, and safety systems, and oversee system reliability across hardware and software.

The role requires 8+ years in embedded development, 3+ years in technical leadership, and hands-on work with Embedded Linux, RTOS, and real-time systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or lead engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux, RTOS, and real-time systems.
• Experience developing software for mobile robotics platforms.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, concurrency, and hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

• Define embedded software architecture and engineering standards for robotic platforms.
• Lead the development of real-time software for motion control, navigation, sensor integration, communications, and safety systems.
• Develop and optimize embedded applications using C/C++ and Embedded Linux.
• Drive hardware/software integration, debugging, and system validation.
• Support autonomous mobile robot (AMR) deployments, fleet reliability, and production releases.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Robotics, Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and QA.
