1840 & Company is seeking a Director-level Finance and Accounting leader to own accounting integrity and advanced FP&A for a growing, SaaS-driven business. The role blends close oversight with strategic modeling, scenario planning, and data-driven decision support, partnering with founders to shape the company’s path.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7-12+ years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong accounting, controller, public accounting, and/or audit foundation.
• Meaningful FP&A experience, including modeling, budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis.
• Experience in a high-growth, tech-enabled, entrepreneurial business.
• SaaS, subscription, or recurring-revenue experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to turn financial information into clear business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and ensure accurate, timely financial statements.
• Develop and maintain client’s financial model, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
• Analyze SaaS metrics, unit economics, gross margins, CAC and LTV.
• Build management dashboards and reporting for strategic decision making.
• Impact investor reporting and provide analysis to founders and management.
• Identify opportunities and risks, and propose actions based on data and AI tools.
