About The Role:

We currently have 50+ data team members in our Corporate business who build, create and maintain our category market data deliverables, and we are looking to further expand the team to continue to increase our portfolio.

The Data Specialist plays a critical role in transforming messy, raw product data into high-quality metrics that our retail and brand customers rely on to analyze performance and make decisions. The core of this role is applying strong judgment to shape imperfect data into consistent, scalable, and analytically meaningful outputs.

Each customer has unique business questions, data structures, and definitions of success. The Data Specialist Analyst works closely with internal teams to interpret these needs, resolve ambiguity in the underlying data, and design solutions that balance accuracy, scalability, and customer expectations. As Our Data Specialist, You Will:
  • Transform raw, messy product and transaction data into structured, customer-ready metrics.
  • Apply judgment to resolve ambiguity in data, including handling incomplete, incorrect, or inconsistent inputs.
  • Define and implement rules and logic that make data analytically meaningful and comparable over time.
  • Build and maintain mappings, benchmarks, and normalization approaches that allow customer data to be analyzed at scale.
  • Execute product categorization and attribution when needed as part of broader metric-building workflows.
  • Identify data quality issues and determine appropriate tradeoffs when perfect data is not available.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver data projects on time and with high accuracy.
  • Ensure consistency and reliability of outputs across customers while accounting for customer-specific nuances.
  • Continuously improve processes and workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Take ownership of deliverables and be accountable for the quality and usability of the final data.
