YipitData is seeking a Data Associate in Colombia to own high-impact data products and analyze complex datasets. You'll develop expertise in proprietary methods, tackle analytical challenges, and collaborate across teams to enhance product offerings. Successful candidates will possess 4–5 years of experience in analytics, strong skills in SQL, Python, and AI tools, and have advanced English proficiency. We currently have 60+ Data team members in our Investor business who build, create and maintain our data products, and we are looking to further expand the team to continue to increase our product portfolio. As a Data Associate, you will:

• Own high-impact data products end-to-end — driving product success by delivering best-in-class outputs with a focus on accuracy, client value, and efficiency. You’ll ramp quickly into full ownership of your products and workflows, operating with minimal oversight.
• Work with massive amounts of data to answer our clients’ key questions about the companies and datasets we analyze. You’ll develop deep expertise in our proprietary methods and techniques, building strong mental models that allow you to ensure data accuracy, identify methodology gaps, and derive key insights.
• Tackle complex data problems independently, using strong analytical judgment to refine methodologies, test new datasets, and solve challenges that require innovative thinking — even when information is incomplete or ambiguous.
• Use AI and tooling to drive meaningful leverage — significantly increasing speed, reducing manual work, and beginning to automate portions of workflows. You’ll standardize best practices and build repeatable processes, always maintaining a high bar for correctness and quality while validating AI-generated outputs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Research, Engineering, and other teams — coordinating across functions to unblock work, align on best practices, and develop technical solutions that streamline workflows, optimize data processes, and push the boundaries of automation.
• Identify and drive improvements to products and data pipelines, contributing ideas for new products, enhancements, and features. This could include developing new methodologies, exploring and scaling the use of new third-party datasets, or improving product profitability — all with a clear understanding of what drives value for clients.

You Are Likely To Succeed If:

• You have 4–5+ years of experience in data, business, or predictive analytics and are proficient in SQL, Python, and PySpark
• You have a proven track record of quickly learning new concepts, particularly complex data methodologies, and building strong mental models of how and why data works
• You actively use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) to accelerate your work and are excited about using AI to drive leverage — not just productivity, but fundamentally better and faster ways of working
• You can clearly communicate complex concepts — including methodology, risks, and tradeoffs — both orally and in writing
• You have a strong ownership mentality and are enthusiastic about making a big impact at a rapidly growing company
• You can manage multiple projects simultaneously, independently prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions with incomplete information
• You have experience using sample or panel data to make precise estimates that guide decision-making
• You have a background in financial markets or are interested in learning more about data-driven investing
• You have an Advanced English proficiency (B2–C1 or higher)
