AECOM Medellin is seeking an Associate Director - Architecture (Data Centers) with deep data center design expertise to guide multidisciplinary teams and deliver large-scale facilities. You will drive design innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainability while steering proposals and client engagements to secure new opportunities at hyperscale and colocated facilities in Colombia and beyond.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture and 8+ years dedicated to large-scale data-center design.
• Expert-level proficiency in design software including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite and BIM tools.
• Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and leading large-scale projects.
• Ability to lead global, multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex data center programs.
• Deep knowledge of data center codes/standards and quality reviews.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the organization’s professional specialist in data center design and delivery.
• Lead innovation in energy efficiency, modular design, and sustainability.
• Develop and implement advanced design methodologies aligned with Sustainable Legacies.
• Manage architectural programs for data centers, coordinating all project phases.
• Plan phases to ensure deliverables meet client, schedule, and budget needs.
• Provide leadership to architects, MEP and structural engineers, and commissioning teams.
• Mentor junior staff in data center design principles and digital workflows.
• Contribute technical insights to business development and proposals.
• Collaborate with leadership to craft proposals and client-ready design solutions.
• Ensure cross-team communication to deliver high-value data center solutions.
• Ensure designs meet reliability, scalability, and future-ready standards.
