Job summary

AECOM in Medellín is seeking an Associate Director – Structural Engineering (Data Centers) to lead structural designs for mission-critical facilities, focusing on scale, resilience, and speed in data center operations.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with ASCE/ACI/IBC standards as projects advance from concept through construction, delivering reliable and scalable solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a strong focus on structural engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience in structural engineering, with data center or mission-critical infrastructure focus.
• Proficient in structural design for concrete and steel systems, including high-load, redundancy, and vibration criteria.
• Experience with structural analysis and modeling tools (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM, Tekla, Revit).
• Advanced level of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for data centers, including concrete and steel systems and vibration criteria.
• Conduct structural analysis and calculations for building and foundation systems, considering seismic, wind, and vibration loads.
• Supervise development of design documentation for tilt-up panels, precast structures, steel framing, and foundations.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and geotechnical teams to integrate systems.
