Monks Technology Services, part of Media.Monks and S4 Capital, seeks a Cloud Azure Security Engineer in Colombia to design, implement, and maintain security controls across Azure infrastructure, applications, and data.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct audits, and support clients in adopting compliant security practices using Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and IAM tools.

Formación

• 2+ years of cloud security engineering experience focusing on Microsoft Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security services including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Firewall, and AD.
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and containerized environments.
• Scripting: PowerShell or Python; familiarity with Azure CLI.

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across infrastructure and data.
• Develop security policies and procedures aligned with regulations and goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into security controls.

• Guide engineering teams on security best practices and remediation.
• Support deployment of Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Firewall, and IAM controls.
• Automate security processes using Terraform, GitHub Actions, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
• Monitor threats and adapt security practices to emerging trends.

About The Role

As a Cloud Azure Security Engineer, you’ll help secure cloud environments by designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions across Azure infrastructure, applications, and data. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to assess risk, strengthen cloud security posture, and support clients in adopting scalable, compliant, and resilient security practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess the security posture of Microsoft Azure environments to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance gaps
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud security controls and protective measures across infrastructure, applications, and data
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational goals
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable cloud security controls
• Conduct regular security audits, reviews, and assessments to validate adherence to established policies
• Provide guidance to engineering and operations teams on security best practices and remediation strategies
• Support the implementation and management of Azure-native security services such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Firewall, and Azure Active Directory
• Automate security processes and controls using tools and scripting languages such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI
• Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends in cloud security and incorporate findings into security practices
• Participate in incident response efforts and assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents
• Other duties as assigned

About You

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of relevant work experience in cloud security engineering with a focus on Microsoft Azure
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Strong knowledge of Azure security services including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Firewall, and Azure Active Directory
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and containerized environments
• Hands-on scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, and/or Azure CLI
• Solid understanding of network security, encryption, identity and access management, and cloud security best practices
• Familiarity with implementing and managing security control policies in Azure environments
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CCSP, or similar are preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• English proficiency at B2 level
