The Ward Law Group, a recognized award-winning personal injury law firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Closing Auditor to join our accounting team. You will review client-level accounting and closing packages, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of every closing statement.

Responsibilities include auditing closing packages, uploading documents to Litify and OneDrive, attaching signed closings, managing deposits in QuickBooks, and supporting lien negotiations.

Job Description

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Closing Auditor to join our accounting team. You'll review client-level accounting and closing packages, making sure every closing statement is accurate, compliant, and processed on time. If you enjoy catching what others miss and keeping financial records clean, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• Audit closing packages daily, both before and after the cutoff, and update their status in Litify for next-day processing
• Rename and upload scanned closing packages, trust checks (re-issued, refund, and discharge), and client advance checks to Litify and OneDrive
• Attach signed closings and executed releases to the correct client files
• Respond to emails in the shared Billings inbox
• Verify and record deposits in QuickBooks, investigating and resolving any variances
• Review trust account balances and work with teammates, providers, and attorneys to resolve discrepancies and close out older cases
• Support attorney lien negotiations by reviewing billing statements and documenting outcomes
• Generate payroll and benefits reports and handle inbound shipments

Qualifications

Required skills:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with financial figures and legal documents
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet daily cutoffs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email correspondence
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with teammates, attorneys, and healthcare providers
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information
• Availability for occasional in-person trainings, including weekends, with 30 days' notice

Preferred skills

• Familiarity with Litify or other legal case management systems
• Background in a law firm, personal injury, or trust accounting environment
• Comfort with attorney lien and medical billing processes
