Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role, focused on production systems built on top of AI models.

You will design agentic workflows, integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, and develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across our design and development processes. This role is fully remote for LATAM and South Africa teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
