Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an AI Engineer to own and ship the internal automation roadmap. You will build production systems on top of LLMs, not train models, and work directly with engineering leadership to turn a roadmap into shipped automation workflows.

You will leverage LangChain/LangGraph and other agent frameworks to create agentic workflows, integrate OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, and build pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace, and our internal CMS.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years shipping production software.
• Experience integrating external APIs (OpenAI/Anthropic).
• Proficient with Python or Node.js in production.
• Familiarity with LangChain or equivalent frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and webhooks.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
