Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems on top of AI models, not model training.

You will work with LangChain, LangGraph and related frameworks to build agentic workflows, integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, and connect tools across WordPress, Google Workspace, and internal CMS. Collaboration is asynchronous with a US-based team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks and API integrations.
• Strong async communication in a distributed team.

This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
