Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on producing production systems on top of AI models, not model training, and requires hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph and related frameworks.

You will work with a US-based team asynchronously, building agentic workflows and API integrations, including OpenAI/Anthropic tool use and function calls.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Own and ship automation roadmap; build production systems on top of AI models.
• Create agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs including function calling and tool usage.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Automation Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.

• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.
