Job summary

Emerson in LATAM seeks a senior engineer to lead design, integration and commissioning of control systems across oil & gas, chemical, mining power and other industries. The role involves coordinating remote teams (India, Cluj, etc.), FAT/SAT, and complex startup activities, with frequent travel up to 60% to regional offices.

Requires an engineering degree, 10+ years in DCS/SCADA, 6 lead project roles, and strong English; Portuguese is a plus.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in DCS or PLC/SCADA in Industrial Automation.
8+ Years of Power Industry experience with demonstrated expertise in Gas and Steam Turbine startup, commissioning, and performance testing.
At least 6 Technical Lead roles of medium size projects (over 2000 I/O points).
Travel time up to 60%.
Intermediate level of English.
Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and implement hardware database, logics, graphics and datalinks.
Lead project teams and oversee FAT/SAT and startups.
Review application documentation for quality, accuracy and completeness.
Lead activities like factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup.
Promote Adoption of Productivity tools and optimize Engineering hours.
Track project progress, budget performance and risk assessment and issue weekly reports.
Act as SME Leader in areas of expertise and mentor less experienced partners.
