Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Process and Operational Readiness Engineer for our Santiago, Chile assignment. This part-time telework role requires at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the office or project, with on-site visits as needed.

The role focuses on developing and leading engineering studies—tradeoffs, conceptual designs, technology applications, scoping—and guiding sizing of mineral processing circuits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university; 15+ years in mineral processing or related field.
• 10+ years in projects and operations of mineral processing plants, including Operational Readiness.
• Commissioning experience and plant ramp-up of a mineral processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as consultant to clients and internal project teams.
• Review process engineering concepts, studies, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Interface with client personnel to define study scope and cost estimates for service and participate in proposal preparation and presentation.
• Develop Operational Readiness documents and guidelines for smooth transition from project to operation.
• Provide guidance to engineering personnel on the development of design criteria and specifications.
• Create and maintain documentation of drawings, design concepts, process sheets, procedures, and concepts.
• Perform other duties as required by Bechtel management.
• Present technical information at industry forums and internal technical meetings.
