Bechtel is seeking a Cost Engineer in Santiago to lead estimating, cost control, and reporting for complex projects. You will develop budgets, monitor trends, and implement cost-control standards across disciplines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 8–14 years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills to present findings to management. Office-based, on-site in Chile, with Bechtel Total Rewards benefits.

Formación

• Experience directing cost engineering functions including estimating, control, analysis, and management.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex data-driven problems.
• Competence in engineering, procurement, contracting, construction, and startup processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for reporting to management.
• Ability to prepare budgets, allocate budgets, and support cost control activities.
• Ability to investigate requirements for cost estimating and cost control data.

Responsabilidades

• Perform non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
• Coordinate cost monitoring standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
• Coordinate development and accuracy of cost reports and ensure compatibility with prior data.
• Verify consistency with previous reports for reliability.
• Prepare budgets in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Investigate requirements for estimating and cost control data.
• Collect and classify cost data for reporting.
• Perform budget allocation and cost control for specific disciplines or groups.
• Identify cost trends needing management attention.
• Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistics, and cost/quantity comparisons.
