Job summary

Insight Global's client is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance scalable payments platform services. You will own parts of the product from architecture through production deployment, collaborating with product, compliance, and operations leaders.

The role requires 6+ years backend experience, cloud and microservices expertise, and a track record in fintech or payments. You will mentor peers and contribute to modernization efforts using AI tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience with C#/.NET or Java/Go in production environments.
• Payments/fintech or money movement experience.
• Microservices and event-driven architecture experience.
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
• Strong product-focused mindset and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for payments platform functionality.
• Build and enhance systems for onboarding, payments, settlement, and FX.
• Collaborate with product, compliance and operations to deliver new capabilities from concept to deployment.
• Develop integrations with external partners and third-party platforms.
• Improve service reliability, monitoring, incident response and production readiness.
• Participate in architecture discussions, planning, and design reviews.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and guide technical decisions.
• Support modernization efforts around cloud, SOA, and platform transformation.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality.
