Maintenance Engineer – Operations & Maintenance | BESS & Solar Projects | Antofagasta, Chile

• Requirement: Candidates must currently reside in Antofagasta, due to the 5x2 on-site work schedule and the need to respond quickly to operational incidents.
• Intermediate English Level for daily communication with Chinese team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of maintenance operations for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and photovoltaic solar projects.

This role will focus on ensuring equipment availability, coordinating maintenance activities, and supporting operational teams to minimize downtime and respond effectively to incidents.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in maintenance management, experience in renewable energy projects, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for BESS and photovoltaic solar systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with operations and technical teams to resolve incidents and system faults quickly.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and service providers to ensure quality maintenance services.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in maintenance engineering or operations within renewable energy projects, ideally solar PV and/or BESS.
• Knowledge of energy storage systems, photovoltaic plants, or power systems maintenance is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and incident management skills.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site under a 5x2 schedule.
• Must currently reside in Antofagasta.
