Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead UI Artist to own the game UI visuals from concept through ship-quality execution in Unreal Engine 5. You will merge visual design with tech art to deliver performant, accessible, and localization-ready UI across platforms.

You will drive end-to-end UI direction, translate wireframes into high-fidelity mockups, and collaborate with design and engineering to ensure visuals meet UX goals and technical constraints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a UI Artist or related art discipline, ideally in games.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
• Portfolio showcasing UI/UX visual design, texturing, and iconography.
• Ownership of a UI theme or visual system from concept to final implementation.
• Strong knowledge of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience with UI materials and shaders in game engines.
• Excellent written and spoken English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end UI visual direction for a consistent look and feel.
• Convert UX wireframes into high-fidelity mockups and style guides.
• Deliver final UI art in Unreal Editor with UMG and materials.
• Create menus, HUDs, icons, and UI motion to support gameplay clarity.
• Develop UI materials and shaders aligned to UI theme.
• Develop basic Blueprint logic to support UI behavior.
• Tune UI assets for PC, console, and mobile without quality loss.
• Ensure accessibility and localization readiness across screens.
• Maintain UI asset libraries and reusable components.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to align visuals with constraints.
• Assess UI implementation quality and drive polish through iterations.
