Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Foreign Trade Specialist to join our team in Chile. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating foreign trade and customs clearance operations, ensuring compliance with Chilean customs regulations and internal company policies.

The role will work closely with internal teams, customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant import and export processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate import and export operations, ensuring timely and accurate customs clearance.
• Oversee customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.
• Ensure compliance with Chilean customs regulations, foreign trade requirements, and import/export procedures.
• Review and manage customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
• Monitor customs clearance processes and proactively resolve operational or compliance issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to ensure smooth foreign trade operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve customs and international trade processes, reducing delays, risks, and operational costs.
• Monitor changes in customs legislation and ensure the company remains compliant with applicable requirements.
• Prepare and maintain reports and documentation related to foreign trade and customs operations.
• Support audits and provide guidance on customs and foreign trade matters when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in foreign trade, customs, import/export operations, or international logistics in Chile.
• Solid knowledge of Chilean customs regulations and import/export procedures.
• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage time-sensitive operations.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience in multinational companies, technology, telecommunications, or other international industries is a plus.
