McKinsey & Company is seeking a professional with expertise in Risk & Resilience to serve as an engagement director. You will leverage your experience to create long-lasting impact and drive transformational change with clients across various industries in Santiago, Chile.

The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in risk management or consultancy, a strong academic background, and demonstrates excellent problem-solving and leadership skills. A comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary will be provided.

Your Impact

You will maintain deep, specialized expertise in Risk & Resilience topics and use that expertise to solve problems and serve as trusted advisor to clients to create change and lasting impact. You will spend time creating opportunities and driving transformational impact with a set of core clients and serve in an engagement director role.

From the start of a project, you will be ensuring that engagement success is a priority. We engage at a deep level across our clients’ businesses, working in small teams to build the capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver bottom-line results and then ensure those results are sustainable. Our work is about problem solving, coaching, and delivering lasting outcomes.

You’ll work with our Risk & Resilience Practice in our Spanish Latam (SL) office. This global practice supports clients in many different industries facing challenges of developing and implementing tailored concepts for risk recognition, measurement, and control.

Facing extreme volatility in financial and commodity markets, many of our clients are realizing that effective, risk-informed strategy can offer a major source of competitive advantage. We take a truly global, cross-sector, cross-functional view of risk issues, combining McKinsey’s deep industry insight and strategic skills with a structured risk-management approach, proven methodologies focused on true transformation, analytical tools, and practical implementation.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• Undergraduate or Master’s degree, MBA preferred; outstanding record of academic achievement.
• 10+ years’ experience in risk management in any industry sector and/or experience in a consultancy (with risk focus) and/or comparable experience in banking (corporate workouts a plus), insurance, risk regulation & compliance (AML, fraud, KYC, etc.), supply chain, climate risk, crisis management, trading/intermediation with significant exposure to risk, or contract/asset structuring.
• Strong problem-solver who can quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply during change transformation efforts with clients.
• High level of entrepreneurship, professionalism and excitement to expand client service and tools.
• Able to provide leadership over and influence individuals and across multiple stakeholders from different levels, backgrounds by tailoring approach.
• Able to multi-task, work under pressure and deliver accurate and high-quality results.
• Willingness to travel.
