McKinsey & Company in Santiago is seeking a People Developer to own the professional development and staffing of early-tenure consultants, collaborating with partners and teams to ensure optimal assignments.

You will build deep knowledge of core industries, practice areas, and staffing pools so consultants are staffed where they can learn, grow, and contribute to client impact. You will monitor progress and support formal and informal feedback, including biannual performance reviews.

Formación

  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent vocational education.
  • 2+ years’ professional development experience in an international environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching and team skills; ability to build great relationships with consultants, partners, and international colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially, managing and prioritizing deadlines effectively.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), firm-related tools (SharePoint, Slack) and Zoom/Teams, and Early adoption of AI tools.
  • Fluent level language skills in verbal and written English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

  • Own professional development and staffing for early-tenure consultants.
  • Develop and update knowledge of core industries, sectors, and staffing pools to ensure optimal engagements.
  • Monitor consultants' development and provide feedback from formal and informal processes.
  • Play a key role in the semi-annual performance review process with local committees.
  • Build trust-based relationships with consultants to guide and support their journey.
  • Manage and report information in required systems and contribute to the people strategy.
  • Lead ad hoc projects initiated by location leader and other stakeholders (e.g., Diversity & Inclusion).
  • Based in the Santiago office and collaborate with partners and teams across the region.

Your Impact

You will take full ownership of professional development and support staffing for early-tenure consultants, working closely with consultants, partners, and other team members.

You will develop and continuously update a strong understanding of core industries, sectors, functional practices, key clients, and staffing pools to ensure the best of the firm is brought to each engagement. Your work will help ensure that consultants are staffed in teams where they can leverage their expertise, gain opportunities to learn and grow, and have a positive team experience.

You will monitor each consultant's development, career progression, and other career-related topics as they arise. You will also support consultants in understanding feedback from both formal and informal processes related to their staffing and evaluations. Additionally, you will play a key role in the semi-annual performance review process, within local committees for your cohort and collaborating closely with the Committee Chair and Development Group Leaders (DGLs) to ensure a smooth process and timely delivery of feedback to consultants.

Building strong, trust-based relationships with consultants will be a critical part of your role. This includes gaining an in-depth understanding of their professional aspirations, experiences, strengths, development needs, and personal skills. You will develop the capabilities needed to effectively guide and support consultants throughout their journey and staffing assignments.

You will also manage and report information in the required systems, perform analyses on your cohort and office, and contribute to the office’s people strategy. Additionally, you will take on responsibility for a variety of ad hoc and special projects initiated by the location leader, professional development leaders, and other key stakeholders. These projects may include, but are not limited to, initiatives related to Team Experience (The Way We Work), Diversity and Inclusion, and other topics that benefit the People Function and broader People-related efforts.

You will be based in our Santiago office. McKinsey Santiago is one of our 11 Locations in Spanish Latam and is home to over 130 talented consultants—professionals who work across a wide range of sectors and functional areas, driving distinctive, large-scale client impact.

Your Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or vocational education with a higher degree
  • 2+ years’ professional development experience (in an international environment)
  • Passion for people development combined with excellent interpersonal, coaching and team skills; ability to build great relationships with consultants, partners, and international colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially, managing and prioritizing deadlines effectively
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), firm-related tools (SharePoint, Slack) and Zoom/Teams, and Early adoption of AI tools
  • Ability to create work product-focused materials / outputs, which may include PowerPoint decks, Excel analyses, or other written deliverables
  • Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning but also ability to work with ambiguity and changing environments
  • Ability to influence and direct colleagues, and manage the needs of different stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or take on projects with limited or no notice at times
  • Effective communication skills across formats (e.g., written, verbal/presentation, digital-ready content and event invitations) and audiences (Partners, Colleagues)
  • Fluent level language skills in verbal and written English and Spanish
