Checkr is seeking a Software Engineer II on the Data Acquisition team in Santiago to build and evolve data platforms that power Checkr's core product. You will contribute to backend data pipelines, collaborating with engineers in Chile and the US to deliver reliable, scalable services.

The role requires 4+ years of backend experience, strong English, and a passion for distributed systems. You will own end-to-end delivery, participate in architecture decisions, and help ensure observability

Formación

• Advanced English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Willing to work in hybrid format in Santiago office (3x2).
• 4+ years of backend-focused software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, or data pipelines.
• Experience with containerized deployments — Docker, Kubernetes / EKS.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms — AWS preferred.
• Strong ownership mindset: on-call rotations and end-to-end accountability.
• A-player mindset with bias for action and urgency.

Responsabilidades

• Work on development lifecycle for data platform features — from design and architecture through implementation, testing, and production monitoring.
• Design and build new data acquisition platforms in Python, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Participate in architecture decisions, write design documents, and contribute to technical direction for the team's platforms.
• Improve platform visibility through logging, metrics, and alerting using Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
• Work closely with engineers in Chile and the US, contributing to async-first planning and execution.
