Job summary

APIUX is seeking an experienced BPM/Process Improvement Analyst to support the Integrated Operations Programme (IOP) for the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in a highly international setting.

You will map, model, and optimize processes, drive improvements, and document workflows using BPMN 2.0, BPM, and Lean methods, while coordinating with global teams. Advanced English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience in BPM, Process Mapping & Discovery, and Process Documentation.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document operational processes through interviews, field observations, and collaborative workshops.
• Map and model As-Is and To-Be processes using BPMN 2.0.
• Drive continuous improvement using BPM and Lean Management frameworks.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain process repositories.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses to support optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams.

Role Purpose

In this role, you will analyze, map, model, and optimize operational processes for the Integrated Operations Programme (IOP), ensuring standardization, traceability, and efficiency through BPM and Lean methodologies. You will directly support the operational excellence of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) by documenting processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving operational transformation in close collaboration with technical and scientific teams in a complex, international environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Drive continuous improvement opportunities using BPM and Lean Management frameworks.


• Prepare technical documentation and maintain process repositories.

• Support methodology reviews to ensure high quality and full traceability across all process models.


• Collaborate closely with cross-functional and international teams.


• Advanced English proficiency (Mandatory).

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience.

• Hands‑on experience with process modeling tools (e.g., Bizagi, MagicDraw, Camunda, or Microsoft Visio).

Nice to Have:

• Professional certifications in BPM, Lean, or Enterprise Architecture.


• Lean Six Sigma certification.


• Industry experience in mining, energy, manufacturing, astronomical observatories, or highly operationalized environments.
