Zusammenfassung

Wallee is a Swiss payment technology company seeking a technically strong leader to head the squad owning our payment modules connecting the platform to acquirers and schemes, handling transactions from authorization to settlement.

In a dual role, you will set technical direction, report to the Head of Engineering, and work within the OmniPayments tribe with other tech leads. You will coach engineers across Switzerland, Lithuania and Ukraine while driving platform evolution and high standards.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in team leadership.
• University degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Strong Java and Spring expertise in a custom framework built on Spring.
• Deep Hibernate/JPA and relational DB performance (PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience with microservices: APIs, asynchronous messaging, Day-2 ops.
• Payment industry experience: acquirer/scheme integrations, PCI DSS awareness, 3-D Secure.
• Track record of reducing technical debt in production.
• Production/incident management experience.
• Experience with cloud (AWS) and Kubernetes.
• Fluent English and people leadership.

Aufgaben

• Own architecture and technical roadmap for payment modules (acquirer and scheme integrations).
• Lead end-to-end new acquirer integrations: analysis, design, implementation, certification, rollout, monitoring.
• Manage technical debt with incremental steps in a large codebase.
• Drive platform evolution: Java 25 and event-driven services.
• Set engineering standards: reviews, testing, observability.
• Lead, coach and grow engineers across Switzerland, Lithuania and Ukraine.
• Hire and onboard engineers with Head of Engineering.
• Spread knowledge via documentation, pairing and rotation.
• Collaborate with Product Manager on discovery and prioritization.
• Interface with architecture and DevOps on designs and operations.
• Support customer support with escalations and feasibility.
