Wallee is a Swiss payment technology company. You will lead the squad that owns our payment modules: the components that connect our platform to acquirers and payment schemes and carry every transaction from authorization to settlement.

This dual role combines technical leadership and people leadership. You report to the Head of Engineering and work inside the OmniPayments tribe alongside the other tech leads.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading a team.
• A university degree in Computer Science or a closely associated discipline is required.
• Deep Java and Spring expertise.
• Strong command of Hibernate/JPA and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and APIs.
• Payment industry experience (acquirer/scheme) is a plus.
• Track record of reducing technical debt in production.
• Software architecture skills and production orientation.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Fluent English.

Aufgaben

• Own the architecture and technical roadmap of the payment modules.
• Lead end-to-end new acquirer integrations: analysis, design, implementation, certification, rollout and monitoring.
• Manage technical debt with incremental steps in a large codebase.
• Drive platform evolution: Java 21 to Java 25; event-driven services.
• Set and uphold engineering standards.
• Lead, coach and grow a squad distributed across Switzerland, Lithuania and Ukraine.
• Run 1:1s, provide feedback, and support career growth.
• Hire and onboard engineers with Head of Engineering.
• Promote knowledge sharing through documentation, pairing and rotation.
• Own production quality: monitoring, alerting, incident response and root cause analysis.
• Ensure availability, correctness and traceability for payments.
• Collaborate with Product Manager on discovery and prioritization; partner with Head of Engineering on tribe goals.
• Work with architecture and DevOps on designs and operations.
• Support customer support with escalations and feasibility answers.
