Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Tech Lead to own the Payments squad's delivery outcomes and define the technical direction for a scalable payments platform. You will write design specs, review architecture decisions, and contribute hands-on to complex challenges while mentoring junior engineers.

The role emphasizes remote-first collaboration, cross-team coordination, and balancing fast delivery with reliability and maintainability in a high-volume payments environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or equivalent technical leader with ownership of a team’s delivery outcomes and engineering standards.
• Strong track record of leading from the front, including writing design documents, reviewing PRs and architecture decisions, and solving complex technical challenges hands-on.
• Ability to balance direct contribution to major technical problems with coaching and developing less experienced engineers.
• Experience establishing a team’s engineering practices and ways of working from the ground up, balancing speed, quality, reliability, and resilience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-team sequencing and dependencies and diagnose underlying causes of delivery or throughput problems.
• Strong judgment in ambiguous environments to establish technical direction without complete requirements.
• Proven ability to drive technical blockers through to resolution and maintain momentum toward delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence engineers, product stakeholders, and leadership.
• Experience with payments systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall delivery outcomes of the Payments squad, ensuring reliable, high-quality software and strong engineering standards.
• Set the technical and architectural direction for the payments domain to scale the service.
• Lead from the front by writing technical specifications, reviewing architecture decisions, and contributing to implementation.
• Solve complex technical problems alongside the engineering team while maintaining a long-term technical vision.
• Establish the squad’s operating model and optimal ways of working balancing speed with quality and resilience.
• Drive improvements in payment accuracy and processing efficiency as volumes grow.
• Identify and resolve blockers to prevent delays in delivery.
• Manage technical sequencing, dependencies, and priorities while keeping progress visible to stakeholders.
• Diagnose throughput issues and implement structural improvements.
• Coach junior engineers and raise engineering quality and speed across the squad.
