You will establish engineering standards for the payments domain, coach engineers, and drive improvements in accuracy and processing efficiency as the platform grows in a remote-first environment.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as a technical lead with ownership of a squad's delivery outcomes and engineering standards.
• Hands-on engineering background with experience writing design documents, reviewing PRs, and solving complex problems.
• Ability to coach engineers and develop junior staff.
• Experience managing cross-team sequencing and dependencies.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and define technical direction.
• Strong systems-thinking and architectural skills for scalable infrastructure.

Aufgaben

• Take ownership of the Payments squad's delivery outcomes and establish engineering standards to deliver reliable, high-quality work.
• Lead from the front by drafting technical specs and design documents, reviewing architecture decisions, and solving complex problems directly through code.
• Define the technical and architectural strategy for the payments domain and convert ambiguous challenges into actionable direction.
• Drive improvements in payment accuracy, processing efficiency, and cost-to-process as the platform scales.
• Design the squad's operating model, balancing speed, quality, resilience, and sustainable development.
• Own technical sequencing, dependencies, and blockers, ensuring progress with stakeholders.
• Build a high-performing team through coaching and collaboration, raising the bar for technical quality.
• Partner with management on hiring and growth needs to support long-term expansion.
• Report to the Service Manager for the billing and payments domain.
