Job summary

Sika AG is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Sustainability team, building the data foundation for Scope 3 carbon accounting. This role designs data models, builds pipelines, and implements calculation logic to turn complex data into insights.

You will help digitize and automate processes, strengthen analytics, and contribute to Sika’s Net Zero journey. Initial focus on data engineering with growing analytics ownership over time.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in Data Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience with data platforms like Databricks or similar (Snowflake, Google BigQuery, etc.).
• Proven experience with Azure services including Data Factory, Storage, and Key Vault.
• Coding skills in SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Experience with code versioning and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub, and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with data governance concepts and tools.
• Fluency in English; German and/or French are plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve scalable data pipelines, data models, transformation workflows, and calculation logic for Scope 3 accounting.
• Support migration of Scope 3 solutions from SAP BI Cubes to Databricks, translating business logic and data structures.
• Design and maintain analytical data warehouse and lakehouse solutions using dimensional modelling and medallion architecture.
• Automate data flows across source systems and contribute to digitalization through AI and automation.
• Build automated validation, testing, and reconciliation controls for data quality and auditable results.
• Investigate data issues, identify root causes, ensure consistency of results.
• Support data governance through clear ownership, documentation, lineage, and secure access controls.
• Contribute to CI/CD practices across environments.
• Analyze complex data, support scenario modelling, and develop dashboards and reporting insights.
