VAT Group in Switzerland is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Raw Material & Surface Treatment to lead global sourcing strategies and partner with engineering, operations and supply chain. The role focuses on sustaining a world-class sourcing model to meet future business needs while delivering value.

You will drive supplier assessments, cost reductions, and a best-cost country approach across regions, ensuring a compliant and high-quality supply base that supports growth and innovation

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years in-depth strategic and operational sourcing experience with a solid working knowledge of global category management.
• Demonstrated work experience on category specific production techniques and processes
• Knowledge about category sourcing markets
• Office Software / IT application (esp. Excel, Word, Power Point etc.)
• Sourcing in Eastern Europe, Asia and experience in Best Cost Country and spend relocation activities
• Working experience within a global complex organization
• Experience in the field of machine building, vacuum technology and semiconductors
• Cross-function / category team management (min. functional)
• Sensible and emphatic communication skills with suppliers, colleagues, internal stakeholders, etc.
• Strong analytical skills (risk based) and focus on the essential facts
• Able to get results through others, able to multi-task, sense of priority, able to handle stress levels
• Good communication skills in German and English (any other language will be a plus)

Aufgaben

• Developing and executing global sourcing strategies for the assigned direct materials categories: Raw Material & Surface Treatment
• Acting as a business partner to key stakeholders in business units, engineering and operations
• Sustain the Global Strategic Sourcing Operating Model and provide supply capability and capacity at best cost
• Apply aligned sourcing processes, sustainable supplier assessments and development approach
• Realize measurable value >3% recurring and P&L cost reductions per year across the global 3rd party spend
• Grow and develop a Best Cost Country Supply Base, preferably in Eastern Europe
• Manage supplier relationship and ensure alignment with category teams in Switzerland, Malaysia and Romania
• Lead category sourcing strategies with defined methods and tools
• Act as change agent to main stakeholders
• Monitor and perform supply base risk assessment across categories
• Contribute to continuous improvement of direct material practices
