Zusammenfassung

Sonova Group in Switzerland is seeking a Specialist Patent and Design Rights to administer, maintain and develop Sonova’s IP portfolio focusing on patents and design rights. You will combine technical IP expertise with software administration, workshop coordination and process support across R&D and IT teams, collaborating with inventors and external partners.

The role covers patent maintenance, FTO screenings, docketing, and coordination of cross-functional teams.

Qualifikationen

Help protect the ideas and technologies shaping the future of hearing care.

As a Specialist Patent and Design Rights, you will help administer, maintain and develop Sonova’s intellectual property portfolio, with a primary focus on patents and design rights. You will combine technical and IP expertise with software administration, workshop coordination and process support, collaborating with inventors, technical experts, R&D teams, Sonova IT and external partners.

More about the role:

• Administer and enhance the PDR Team’s IP software tools, including user access, templates, error handling, upgrades and data quality
• Support new software functionalities, act as the key contact for suppliers and Sonova IT, and provide user training and documentation
• Plan, conduct and document patent maintenance and competitor-screening workshops, coordinating Technical Patent Experts, activities, resources and timely reviews
• Support patent and design-right administration as deputy to the PDR Administrator/Paralegal, including correspondence, docketing, deadlines, patent-office filings, maintenance-fee instructions and accounting
• Coordinate Freedom-to-Operate and PDR clearance projects, including project updates, reports, executive summaries, legal-status research and monitoring lists
• Maintain patent-to-product mappings and infringement-related documentation, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes
• Support invention disclosures and provide IP-related information to internal and external partners

More about you:

Must have:

• Technical background and a qualification in Patent Engineering or comparable experience
• Practical experience in patent and design-right administration, international patent practice and Freedom-to-Operate investigations
• Ability to interpret patent claims and accurately document complex technical relationships
• Experience administering IP management software and conducting patent database and register searches
• Experience collaborating with technical experts and interdisciplinary, internationally distributed teams
• Proactive, reliable and quality-focused approach, with strong organizational, systems-thinking and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure
• Good written and spoken English and proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office

Nice to have:

• Degree or university-level technical training in electrical engineering, physics or a comparable field
• R&D experience in digital signal processing, microelectronics, microsystems or medical technology
• Interest in interdisciplinary technical topics
• Good written and spoken German
• Experience with Confluence and Microsoft Teams
