Job summary

Inselspital Bern University Hospital is offering a research position in a fully-funded project running from November 2026. The role requires a Master’s degree in biochemistry, systems biology or analytical chemistry and hands-on mass spectrometry experience, with mass spectrometry imaging a plus.

The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team, work across molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and computational biology, and contribute to projects involving

Qualifications

• Master's degree in biochemistry, systems biology or analytical chemistry.
• Experience with mass spectrometry is essential; mass spectrometry imaging is a plus.
• Highly organized and able to work independently and in a team.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary training across molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and computational biology.
• Contribute to research projects including pre-clinical models and clinical studies.
• Collaborate with team members to plan and execute experiments and analyses.

What you can expect

• This research will provide multi-disciplinary training as require a combination of complementary approaches, including molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and computational biology

Your Profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in biochemistry, system biology or analytical chemistry
• Experience working with mass spectrometry is essential and knowledge of working with mass spectrometry imaging in plus
• Highly organized and capable of working both independently and within the team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills as well as fluency in both spoken and written English is essential
